This hotel was the highlight of our trip. Our room was spotless and the bathroom was superb, the shower was divine! All of the staff we met were polite, helpful and welcoming. Our breakfast was really good. The waitress took our order and the food was delivered hot to our table. It really did taste fresh and delicious. I actually enjoyed this more than the normal 'buffet' you get with a lot of hotels these days where the food sits out on tables and under 'heat lamps' for hours. There is something quite charming about the old custom of ordering from the menu and an actual person cooking it to order and having it bought to your table. I wish we had stayed for dinner at the restaurant as a number of people has recommended it and the menu selection looked outstanding. I'm sure we can find a reason to visit again soon!

The whole experience was great! The staff were welcoming and helpful. We eat in the brasseire on our first evening and the food was superb with good quality produce locally sourced. I was even offered wine from a local vineyard and it was good. Breakfast was fab with a great range on offer but the omlettes were my particular favourites. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. In the wet room, there was a lovely rainforest shower and the toiletries smelt delightful. I was impressed that a shower cap was provided and if you needed cottonbuds, well they were there too. The White Hert itself is very characterful complete with wooden beams and uneven walls. The grounds are beautiful and there is a country walk but we will have to do that on our next visit.

My wife and I have stayed in many hotels in our 35 years of marriage and the White Heart is close to being the best of them in the UK. No spa, No Swimming pool etc, they just get the basics absolutely spot on. So many, alleged top quality hotels fail to do so. Excellent service from every member of the team, decor in the room impeccable (also matching the main building) superb food. And when you ask for a variation on the menu , you are told “of course, that’s no problem at all” I wonder if they realise even the little thing of serving the meals from a brought out trestle table adds to the style of the whole hotel. Well done to all and thank you.

This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. No table booked in advance as it was a last minute decision and upon arrival greeted with friendly staff who could not do enough for us. Luckily, they did manage to get us a table but with a warning they will need it back by 2pm. We arrived at 12pm so plenty of time. Service was exceptional, attention to detail was impeccable, food was divine, win was flowing, overall a superb afternoon. Thank you to the team. Arranging to come back again shortly and would highly recommend.

The venue is full of history. The pub is warm and cosy with wooden beams, low ceilings and an open fire. The staff give a high quality service ,they are attentive without being overbearing. The food was exceptional and professionally presented. The bedroom is a good size, contemporary, clean and beds are comfortable. Good coffee and tea making facilities. The breakfast offered fruit, cereal, toast as-well as a range of cooked options. We had a fantastic overnight stay. I would definitely recommend.
